Chicken POOP-Fly-away
For several years we have been spraying our 1.5 tons of organic compost when we mix our Stack Farms organic chicken poop. Flies gather as the mix is strong. As soon as we spray the pile with you Valerian prep flies are gone and never come back. It is amazing. Thanks.

“Liquid light of Saturn” Valerian
After reading Stewart Lundy’s 8/10/25 post re: Venus trine Saturn & Neptune for August 25 & 26th, I ordered Valerian from JPI. I received it by mail VERY quickly. What is the Biodynamic Valerian Preparation used for?
BD 507 stimulates phosphorus processes in compost and protects it from the cold, enhancing soil life and growth.
How do I use the Valerian Preparation for compost?
Empty one unit into 1 gallon of lukewarm rainwater or other chemical-free water and stir vigorously for 10 minutes. Pour half into the sixth compost-pile hole and spray the other half over the pile in a fine mist.
How much compost does one BD 507 unit treat?
Use one unit as part of a complete BD 502–507 set. One complete set treats up to 15 tons of compost; use the full set on smaller piles also.
Is it possible to make my own BD 507 preparation?
Yes, valerian is easy to grow, and making your own BD 507 is encouraged for large operations.
