Workshop & Community Opportunities
For those of us in North America, signs of Autumn are beginning to appear and reflections on the past season begin. My garlic harvest has been dried and sorted, some summer crops have been chopped and composted to make room for Fall plantings, and the visible light of each day becomes shorter and shorter as we move through September.

While work on the farm never ceases, this Fall we are presented with a variety of social and educational opportunities for both the beginning gardener and well-seasoned farmer. For me, working with plants and the soil can oftentimes be very individualistic, creating a beautiful direct relationship between the Biodynamic practitioner and the world we live in, but lacking in deep human to human contact.
Beyond the Farm, I feel this need for interpersonal connection and I look forward to spending time sharing space with you all this Fall (in person!) as I continue to explore the spirituality of Biodynamics, take time to learn from my Elders and build relationships that will last my lifetime.
Below is a (partial) list of the amazing opportunities available to us this Fall to plug in and connect to the larger Biodynamic community that continues to grow here in North America. I invite you to come join us no matter what your experience is and I look forward to volunteering and participating in many of these events this Fall alongside my friends and family.

Fall Michaelmas Gathering Hosted by the Biodynamic Association of Northern California Live Power Community Farm Covelo, CA bdanc.org/fall-meeting
What kinds of learning opportunities did the autumn 2023 roundup include?
It listed regional gatherings, preparation intensives, JPI’s fall workshop, a spiritual immersion, and the National Biodynamic Conference, spanning several regions of the United States.
Why does Blackstone emphasize gathering in person?
Alongside the intimate relationship between gardener and land, he values direct human connection. Shared learning, time with elders, and enduring friendships nourish the wider biodynamic community.
