Andreas Suchantke draws on decades of biological observation to explore growth and evolution through the concept of metamorphosis. Following Goethe’s participatory method, he studies patterns of transformation across plants and animals and asks how organisms can be understood as integrated wholes. His drawings and color photographs accompany a wide-ranging account of leaves, flowers, mammals, birds, insects, and skeletal forms, presenting a holistic interpretation of organic life.
