What is the Biodynamic Dandelion Preparation used for?

The finished JPI BD 506 is added to a managed compost pile with the complete BD 502–507 set. Biodynamic growers associate dandelion preparation with silica and potassium processes. A 2026 laboratory comparison of an Italian BD 506 sample measured the second-highest antioxidant activity among the preparations compared and growth of selected compost-associated bacterial cultures, including Ureibacillus terrenus and Aeribacillus pallidus. Follow the current JPI compost directions for the purchased unit.

How do I use the Biodynamic Dandelion Preparation?

Use the finished preparation as part of a complete BD 502–507 set. Make six holes evenly across the compost pile and place this unit into one of the first five holes, about halfway down the pile. Close the hole with old compost or good soil so no air pocket remains. One complete set treats up to 15 tons of compost; use the full set on smaller piles also.

What ingredients are in the Biodynamic Dandelion Preparation?

It is prepared from dandelion blossoms (Taraxacum officinale). This JPI product is the finished BD 506 compost preparation; add the supplied unit to your pile with the BD 502–507 set according to the current instructions.
